She uses her passion for the yoga practice to inspire the people in her life to live up to their fullest potential. She teaches yoga in English and Spanish.

Soraya was trained in breath-centered, therapeutic yoga at Abhyasa Yoga Center, with studies in yoga anatomy at The Breathing Project. Her training incorporated a foundation of philosophy, technique,  anatomy, alignment, and interpersonal skills.

Soraya was born in Maracaibo, Venezuela, where she grew up and lived until 2004. Currently she lives in Brooklyn with her husband and three kids (Magdalena 12, Bolivar 8 and Clara 8). She loves to share her practice with her kids teaching them new poses, even if it’s in the laundry room.

My goal is to make yoga accessible to all. I am gravitating toward sharing the benefits of yoga with office workers, entrepreneurs and anyone else who finds themselves engaging in long periods of sitting and staring at a computer screen.

I also have experience teaching people with different health issues, proving that yoga can be a useful part of the treatment plan for many medical conditions.

I teach breath-centered, therapeutic yoga, where the main focus is to link movement with breath and integrate it with precise alignment and meditation to create an inner journey towards healing and empowerment. Classes are introspective with lots of options to modify for all levels of students, emphasizing breath, and inner awareness.
